Bramati, van Lee, Pellizotti and Cao head to Euros in Melgoda

The Trinx Factory Team will represent four riders at the upcoming MTB European Championships, taking place in Melgago,Portugal, from Tuesday, July 22nd to Sunday,July 27th. 

Italian national team coach Mirko Celestino has called up Under 23 Lucia Bramati and U19 Giorgia Pellizotti and Pietro Cao; the three Italians will be joined by Belgian Sverre Van Lee, born in 2006, who will also compete in the Under 23 competitions.

This confirms the quality of the work put in by the team staff led by Luca Bramati, who has successfully introduced two rookies like Pellizotti (pictured by Maxime Schmid) and Cao to the important continental championship.

For the four Trinx Factory Team athletes, the Portuguese event program will kick off on Thursday the 24th with the short track races. The following day, the Mixed Team Relay will take place.

The individual Olympic Cross Country events begin on Saturday, with the Juniors (starting at 11:00 a.m.), the Juniors (starting at 2:15 p.m.), and the Under 23s (starting at 4:15 p.m.).

On the final day, Sunday the 27th, the Under 23 Women will take to the track (starting at 11:00 a.m.).

While waiting to head to the European Championships, the Trinx Factory Team athletes are preparing for the most important weekend in their home country: the National Championships.

In Italy, the event is in Tabiano Terme, in the province of Parma. There will be two days of competition: on Friday, the Italian e-MTB jerseys will be awarded. Among those competing on pedal-assisted bicycles will be elite rider Cristian Bernardi and Under 23 Marco Bramati.

The XCO specialty challenges will heat up on Saturday the 19th. The first Italian title will be awarded in the U19 category, a race in which will compete Flavio Dispensa and Pietro Cao (pictured by Alessio Pederiva).

The women's group will start at 11:15 a.m., featuring athletes from the Open, Under 23, and U19 Women categories. Among the participants, the spotlight will be on Under 23 Lucia Bramati and U19s Alice Pascucci and Giorgia Pellizotti. The Under 23 competition will take place at 1:45 p.m. (with Marco Bramati starting), and the Open competition will close at 4 p.m., also featuring Cristian Bernardi.

In the Belgian town of Tessenderlo, Sverre Van Lee will also compete in a double challenge.

The national titles in both the short track and Olympic Cross Country disciplines will be decided in the Flemish town. For him, who triumphed in the Under 19 category last year, this will be his first national competition in the Under 23 category.
