Lucia Bramati's third MTB World Championships opened with a disappointing 23rd-place finish in the short track race. The 22-year-old Italian, at her first World Championships in this specialty, introduced to the event program in 2021,finished 1:24 behind the unstoppable
Canadian Isabella Holmgren, having been penalized by a mechanical issue during the fifth of eight scheduled laps.
«Until that moment the race was going as expected, with Lucia fighting for a result in the top 15», explains the team manager of the Trinx Factory Team Luca Bramati.«Unfortunately, the electronic shifting played a nasty trick on our athlete at the very end, and she had to complete the race using the lowest gear. It's a shame, because it's an issue we've never had all season, given the quality of our components; the important thing, however, was that Lucia felt good, especially ahead of Sunday's race».

On Friday at 3 pm, it will be the turn of young Giorgia Pellizotti, who will make her debut in the MTB World Championships, looking to top off a season that saw her crowned Italian Champion among the U19s.
