The Trinx Factory Team Trinx Factory Team returns from the unusual trip to Argentario with three important souvenirs: thanks to the performances of U23 Lucia Bramati, third in the Open race (photocredit Roberto Gasparini), and U19 Giorgia Pellizotti, again successful in her category, the team led by Luca Bramati holds all three leader jerseys of the Internazionali d'Italia Series circuit for the women's categories.
A prestigious result, which was the team's goal, and had already started to materialize a week ago at Monte San Zeno, where all the team's athletes showed good form in the rain. And the bad weather also characterized the race on the trails of the Tuscan promontory.
Conditions that didn't scare the two athletes mentioned at the beginning, especially.
Lucia even tried to win second place, behind the unstoppable Canadian Emilly Johnston, but then faded in the last lap, thus being overtaken by the Czech Adela Holubova. For her an important third place among the Open, first among the U23, and a double award ceremony: Lucia has jumped to the lead in the rankings reserved for the U23 and Elite categories.
«Wearing the leader's jersey was one of my seasonal goals; now I will try to defend it as long as possible», confirmed Lucia Bramati at the finish line. «Today was very tough, I rode a regular race until the last lap, when my strength ran out, but I'm quite happy to have climbed onto the podium on a day like this».
On the podium as usual also Giorgia Pellizotti, who as happened in Verona, Campochiesa and San Zeno di Montagna, climbed to the highest step, at the end of another solo race: behind her closed Nicole Azzetti and Sara Bertino. All this despite a puncture that risked compromising the result.
«During the second lap I punctured but I decided not to change the wheel so as not to waste time and be a little more cautious on the descent sections, also because the rain changed the lines we had tried yesterday on the dry; I would say that this strategy paid off», explained the young rider from Treviso (photocredit Roberto Gasparini): just like her teammate Lucia Bramati, Giorgia closes this first part of the season at the top of the two main Italian circuits: the Internazionali d'Italia Series and the Italia Bike Cup.
Unlucky day for Alice Pascucci who, after the last races in constant improvement, was forced to retire due to a puncture suffered when she was very far from the pits.
Good also in the men's field. At Argentario Cristian Bernardi returned to savor the top 10 in an international race: for him a tenth place overall, seventh among the elite, and a prize for the consistency and determination that allowed him to return to being a high-level athlete. Tenth place also for Marco Bramati, who finished 21st overall, proving to be among the best 10 Under 23 at the finish line; not bad for an athlete in his first season in the new category.
Also good were the two U19, in turn capable of achieving their best results of the season. Pietro Cao repeated the fourth place of a week ago, getting even closer to the podium. The most positive aspect is the consistency demonstrated by the athlete: if we exclude the technical problem that grounded him in Campochiesa, Pietro’s record boasts a fifth place in his debut in Verona and two fourth places. Flavio Dispensa also continues to grow, crossing the finish line in 17th place at Argentario, fifth among the boys born in 2008.
