As happened in 2022, the first Trinx Factory Team victory in the Xco season bears the signature of the junior Valentina Corvi: the 17-years-old was able to storm on victory on Saturday in the Xco Coppa Città di Albenga.
In a sort of revenge of what we saw in Verona a week earlier, the Italian champion set the record straight from the first lap, detaching the French girl Muriel Furrer and Elisa Lanfranchi, reaching a solo victory: this is her first success of the season in mtb, which gave her the leader jersey of Italia Bike Cup circuit (in Pianeta Mtb photo, the Italian champion in action in Albenga).

«Today I wanted to test my shape after the break at the end of the cyclo-cross season», said the girl from Tirano on the podium. «I still have to improve in the ascent sections, but in downhill I felt at ease».

As was said on the eve, in the Ligurian race the boys directed by Luca Bramati were looking for confirmations after the Verona Mtb International. In addition to Valentina Corvi, the Elites also replicated the results obtained in Veneto. Giorgia Marchet (photocredit Pianeta Mtb) finished in fifth place in the race won by Martina Berta, going up again on the awards stage; Eva Lechner also repeated the performance in Verona, finishing in tenth place.

A more complicated day for the Under 23 Lucia Bramati, who finished in 30th place, as well as for the Elite Gioele Bertolini and the Under 23 Cristian Bernardi, who in a race dominated by foreign athletes crossed the finish line respectively in 18th and in 49th position.

Once again a good performance for the 1st year junior Marco Guercilena: in his second appearance with the Trinx Factory Team colours, the 16-year-old from Bernareggio came close to the top 10 in a race involving 127 athletes. Eleventh place for him (sixth among the athletes born in 2006), achieved with a good comeback from the back positions of the group.

In the same race, Marco Bramati crossed the finish line in 49th position, with Daniele Corvi 54th. They too are athletes in their first year in the Juniores category. For them, as well as for the other bikers of the squad, next week there will be another chance to gain experience and improve their legspeed: on Saturday 18th the team will return to the province of Verona for the San Zeno di Montagna race, Internazionali d'Italia Series first round.
