There was curiosity to see how the junior Valentina Corvi would handle the race against the best elites of the world on a demanding track like the one in Hulst.
And the young biker from Tirano (in the archive photo by Elisa Haumesser) didn’t disappoint expectations by closing her first World Cup race in the top category in 27th place, best of the Italians at the start. The Trinx Factory Team rider was the second of her peers to cross the finish line, preceded only by the Dutch Lauren Molengraaf, with whom Valentina also competed for the European title in Namur until the last corner.
«It was an interesting test, which allowed Valentina to test herself in a different race than usual», explains sports director Luca Bramati. «Athletes who had more power and experience than her,a lot of traffic, more than 50' at a crazy pace. The result doesn't matter; what is important is that both Valentina and Lucia Bramati, 35th at the finish line, were happy to have raced on a track that put even the Elites under pressure».
An experience that Valentina will be able to repeat around Christmas, when the Trinx Factory Team will move to Northern Europe for a rich campaign in Belgium (from December 23rd to January 3rd), which will help the athletes to refine their shape for the last part of season.
The month of December, however, will begin in Italy, with three international races in Veneto: Sunday 4 December the the 38th GP Città di Vittorio Veneto; Thursday 8 the 20th Ciclocross del Ponte in Faè di Oderzo and Sunday 11 the 4th GP Internazionale CX di Jesolo.
