TABOR (CZE) – On the meadows and the fast straights of Tabor, yesterday the Under 23 Lucia Bramati and the Under 19 Valentina Corvi made their seasonal debut in the UCI Cyclocross World Cup 2022-23.
In her first appearance of the season with the national team jersey, Lucia Bramati (in the archive photo by Alessandro Billiani) confirmed her growing, ending the race in 38th position.
This is not a trivial result, considering that the 19-year-old from Sandrigo, who until now had participated in only one international race in Switzerland, started from the fourth row and, on the first lap, had a mechanical problem that forced her to enter in the pit area and to change the bike.
«This kind of things can happen in the cyclocross, but we knew that for Lucia the first round of the World Cup would have been a demanding one», explained the Trinx Factory Team sport director Luca Bramati. «She had few competitions in the spring and summer because of school commitments, so she has to find the race pace. This is why next weekend we will do an important block of work, participating on Saturday in Brugherio, on Sunday in Switzerland and on Monday in Florence».
The junior Valentina Corvi, who yesterday finished in 17th position in Tabor, will participate on Sunday in the fourth round of the World Cup in Maasmechelen (Belgium).
After the splendid performances with the national team during the training camp in Spain, which gave her three successes in four races, the Valtellinese stumbled on a less fortunate day.
However, the track of Tabor is one of the less suitable percourse for Valentina, who she will try to turn the table next week in a Maasmechelen.
The Belgian race should be more demanding and technical, as well as the European Championship in Namur, scheduled for Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November and in which both Trinx Factory Team athletes aspire to participate. If the two italian cyclocross riders have just started their season, the long year of the biker Giorgia Marchet ended on Sunday, whith Salamina Epic last round.
In the last three races in Greece, the italian biker (in the photo by Maxime Schmid, in the company of Luca Bramati) collected a third place on Friday in the
fifth round and a fourth place yesterday in the last event, classified as a Hors Class race.
Important placements to gain UCI points, crucial to qualify for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
