After her winning debut in Cadoneghe and the success in the national jersey at the Ciclocross Internacional Xaxancx (Spain) six days ago, Valentina Corvi confirms herself as one of the most promising juniors in Europe, ending in seventh place the Ciclocross Internacional Concello de Ribadumia, C2 class race in which the 17-year-old from Valtellina turned out to be the best among the U19 women (in the photo, Valentina on the podium).
Ahead of Valentina, infact, six more experienced athletes, including the Belgian elite Laura Verdonschot, winner of the race.
«At first I felt a little unconfortable», explained Valentina Corvi. «Then lap by lap, I found my pace, joining a small group in which Federica Venturelli was also there. In the final the speed rised up and I was able to grab the seventh position and the victory among the U19».
A victory meaningful, considering that Valentina was able to arrive in Spain only a couple of hours before the race.
«On Friday, due to traffic jam, I missed my flight to Spain. I got the plane this morning. Just in time to land at 10, get dressed and took my bike».
On Sunday, Valentina Corvi is going to check her athletic shape again, competing at the Cyclocross with Da Romaiña-concello de Sanxenxo. Her teammate Lucia Bramati will make her international debut in Steinmaur (Switzerland), home of the Radquer Steinmaur Cyclocross.
