It was a weekend of Italian glory for the Trinx Factory Team. While Pietro Cao was crowned national champion in the XC Eliminator discipline on Friday, yesterday Giorgia Pellizotti — the 2025 Italian Junior Women’s champion — showcased her talent by dominating the MTB International Summer Classic, a Class C1 international event held in Chies d’Alpago. Today, the young Zoe Del Ponte capped off the team's success by claiming the national title in the girls' category for the 2011 age group.
Starting chronologically, let’s look at the standout performance by Giorgia Pellizotti; on Saturday, she overcame both her competitors and punishing temperatures, given that the women’s race kicked off at noon. These adverse conditions did not faze the athlete coached by Luca Bramati, who dominated the race, finishing more than two minutes ahead of her main rivals, Nicole Righetto and Nicole Azzetti. Beyond the winning margins, it is impressive how Giorgia — who is also testing herself on the road this year — manages to be competitive in both disciplines, instantly finding a feel for the bike and the courses.
«Honestly, even I don’t know how I’m managing it; I only got back on the mountain bike a week ago, since an arm injury a month back had prevented me from gripping the handlebars properly», confirms Giorgia (pictured by Alessio Pederiva). «I focused on technique right away, and I think that helped, along with training in the heat; that allowed me to get used to conditions I used to struggle with. Now I have a week of rest, followed by a road stage race with the national team, and then the Italian Championship on July 18th in Nervesa della Battaglia, where I’ll try to defend the title I won last year».
In the heat of Chies d’Alpago, two other squad bikers did a good performance: Thobias Del Ponte ended in 14th position among the U19, while Marco Bramati was able to cross the finish line 17th in the Open race, eleventh among the Elites. Pietro Cao paid the price for the effort expended in winning the Italian XCE title and had to settle for twentieth place overall, fourteenth in the Under 23 category.
The entire team stayed in Chies d’Alpago to support Zoe Del Ponte, who was competing today in the Italian youth championship. It proved to be a fortunate decision, as the young athlete from Treviso won the race for girls born in 2011.

Zoe crossed the finish line alone, successfully distancing the peers she has been competing against all season—such as Irene Righetto (fourth today), Marta Bodini (third), and Carolina Signorelli (second). It is also worth noting that this is the third time the athlete has reached the podium at the Italian Championships: she previously achieved this feat in San Fior in the cyclocross specialty (finishing third) and in La Salle in the short track race (another bronze medal).

«This result is for my family, for the team, but also for Adele, the fourteen-year-old who lost her life a week ago while out training on her bike», says the newly crowned Italian champion in the U16 category (pictured here, in a photo by Michele Mondini, being carried in triumph by her teammates). «I started out determined, because it was important to get into the leading group right away; at the end of the second lap, I made my move to break away and managed to pull clear of all my rivals all the way to the finish line».
Today there is also the podium for U19 rider Flavio Dispensa, who clawed his way to 13th place on the Gallio Marathon’s medium course, securing him third place among riders born in 2008.
