Sixth seasonal appointment in the World Cup, the third in the Olympic Cross Country specialty, and fourth placement among the best 20 in the world for the Under 23 Lucia Bramati, who in Nove Mesto confirmed once again the quality of the work done last winter and which is allowing her to have a solid and constant performance.
Twenty-four hours after placing in the short track, the Trinx Factory Team biker (pictured by Maxime Schmid) finished the Olympic Cross Country race in 20th place. The young girl from Vicenza was in the running for a more ambitious placement: after an excellent start that allowed her to stay close to the top 10, Lucia settled around fourteenth position, but a fall on the last lap cost her six positions. The 20th place means that the athlete is now in sixteenth place in the overall World Cup ranking.
The start, if we want, was instead the Achilles heel of the young Sverre Van Lee: starting from the 53rd place, the young Belgian, in his first season among the Under 23s, lost positions at the start, remaining in a very large group, strong of 107 athletes. Impossible to recover ground among the treacherous stony places in the woods of the Czech Republic and the race ended in 72nd place, but with an important baggage of experience accumulated in view of the next competitive events.
