The winter season of Valentina Corvi finishes with another placement among the best in the world.
The seventeen year old (in the photograph by Elisa Haumesser) closed the Cyclocross World Championship in Hoogerheide in tenth place.
The italian athlete, competing in the race reserved for the Under 19s, was the author of an excellent start which allowed her to stay in the group fighting for the medals, but lap by lap she was unable to keep up with the pace.
«It wasn't the World Championship I dreamed of and for this reason I'm quite disappointed», confesses Valentina after the finish line. «I was hoping for something better, but from the start I realized I hadn't the legs and the shape to fight for something important. In any case, I tried to stay with the best in the first two laps, hoping to find the energy I didn't seem to have; unfortunately in the second part of the race I had to give up».
However, the winter season of Valentina Corvi and the Trinx Factory Team ends with the Italian title conquered in Ostia Antica, the silver medal at the European Championships in Namur, four top 10s in the World Cup and nine other successes between Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
